I’ve been off work since before Christmas. It’s snowed three times since then. So I’ve been crafting because it’s too cold to play outside. Which means I’ve got a fun, easy craft for y’all!

This is a super easy craft project. Here’s what you’ll need:

Two metal wreath forms – one 16 inches and one 20 inches. (You can go smaller or go with just one but everything from here on out will be for this size wreath.)

Felt squares. Here I did four colors and used five sheets of each color.

A cutting mat and a rotary cutter. These aren’t necessary but they make things go much faster.

Ready? Let’s make a wreath!

First, cut the sheets in half lengthwise.

Next, cut the sheets into strips. I shoot for roughly a half an inch wide. It doesn’t have to be perfect though. Just try to not go much wider or narrower. Too wide and the strips will be hard to knot. Too narrow and they’ll stretch too much.

Keep going until you have a pile of felt strips.

Next, tape the wreath forms together. I just masking tape. You can use wire too. I always tear the tape as I work on the wreath and use the felt strips to permanently hold the two wreath forms together. They won’t fit perfectly but once the wreath is finished you won’t be able to tell that there are two wreath forms.

Now get to tying knots. Here’s where you can get creative. You can make the color random, make a pattern…what ever you like.

Once you finish the first ring (start with the inside one), skip a ring and keep going. Continue to know felt strips on every other ring until you’re done. It will take a while with a wreath this big. Put Netflix on and get comfy. It’s a great project for a cold winter day.

Everything will be flattened down by the time you’re done. Hang the wreath on your door and fluff up the felt to make it look good. Then step back and enjoy your new wreath.

Fun tip: You can also weave battery powered LED lights into the wreath to jazz it up. I did this for Christmas with a red, green, and white wreath. It looked so neat.
