Greetings all. Time for an update post. But first an apology. I’ve been MIA for far too long. Life has gotten in the way of my blogging. Here, let me show you.
First, there was this.
I’m the tall one with the kiddo. No, he’s not mine. He belongs to my cousin B. She’s in the middle. I might steal him though as he’s the sweetest little boy. On the end there is my sister E. (Yes, there are two E’s in the family.) Where were we you ask? At the beach. Well, not in this picture, but yeah, at the beach. You see the whole family came together down on Tybee Island, Georgia for my baby sister’s wedding.

That’s her in the pretty white dress. My sweet baby sister M. Just love her. Next is her dad J (my sister’s and I have a different dad, but more on that in an upcoming post). Next is M’s best friend L, then my sister E, my sister T and your’s truly.

One more photo of the wedding goodness. That’s four of my favorite people up there. I wish we could spend more time together because they make my world brighter.

Okay, I lied. One more wedding photo. That’s my new brother C. He’s perfect for M. They fit together so well. I’m so excited to see what life will hold for them.
Now, the whole trip wasn’t just about the wedding. It was also about these two kiddos.
Those are E’s two boys, W (the short one) and J. Those two boys have my heart. I do not get to see them enough and that is a crime. Thankfully, they adore their Aunt E and are my little shadows when ever we do get time together. Georgia and Texas are way too far apart. Someone reorganize the states for me.
I got to read to them each night and help E put them to bed. We’d say prayers and all that jazz. In the photo above sweet W fell asleep on top of me a bit later. Oh, also in the picture is our Aunt M, B and her little boy T.
So that was the end of my October. A whirlwind trip that ended far too soon. I now need to move closer to my family in Georgia. Because J and W need their aunty close by. And I need my boys close by too.
Sadly, when I got home life just got even busier. Why?
That’s why. I’m attempting my very first National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to have the rough draft of a novel by the end of the month. I may not make it, but I am loving everything that I’m writing. And I’m loving working on what will be my first novel. Yup. That’s right. First novel. Hot damn, y’all, that is exciting.
In addition to writing and school and work I’ve squeezed in a little photography too.
That’s my cousin C and her soon to be hubbie C. She’s a hoot and I was thrilled to shoot their shower last week.
Whew. I’m tired just writing all this.
I have a long post in the works about the blessing of being adopted and having such a wide and varied family. It’s all about how God shows off sometimes. I hope you’ll like it. It will be up in a day or two. I’ll also probably share some tidbits from my novel later on. It is really, really rough right now and not ready for anyone to see. In short, I’m not gone and I haven’t forgotten this little blog and my readers. In fact, things will probably start hopping around here soon so you better stay tuned.
